About Me

James is a Founding Director of Realogics Sotheby's International Realty in Downtown Seattle. James is approaching 20 years of real estate experience. He founded the Stroupe Group in 1996 and has developed a team of specialized and dedicated urban real estate experts. Previously an architect, he brings a unique perspective to clients with a deep knowledge of the construction industry. He was the Managing Broker of the four Sotheby's offices in Seattle, Kirkland, Bainbridge, and Issaquah. He was also the Assistant Manager of a highly successful real estate office on Queen Anne. He is instrumental in helping to run the office as well as assisting agents in their own success. James also has been a past member of the Standards of Practice Committee, which sets ethics standards above and beyond what is required by law. He is a current member of the Grievance Committee for the Seattle King County Association of Realtors, which is a committee for resolving disputes and complaints regarding real estate agents. He has also taught classes in real estate for advanced training for agents to excel in the industry. James prides himself on keeping ahead of trends and upcoming influences in the market by attending many seminars, classes, and conventions throughout the year to stay abreast of marketing, law, and technology.

His objective is to educate clients so that they can make informed decisions, and not be pressured by aggressive selling. It may take more effort, but by giving this level of service, he has developed a strong reputation from both the public and fellow agents. His strong communication skills, as well as sincere desire to provide clients with the highest level of professional integrity are attributes buyers, sellers, and investors can rely on. This has always resulted in strong referral business from past clients.
